Mahjong is a global phenomenon with over 100 million players worldwide.
Originating in 19th-century China, this tile-based game combines strategy, skill, and calculation. Its popularity soared internationally in the 1920s, evolving into distinct regional variations like Japanese Riichi and American Mahjong.
Mahjong has become a competitive mind sport and a deeply cherished social tradition that connects generations across diverse cultures.
Allison Caldwell Roundtree started teaching Mahjong to friends after moving to the area in 2022 – mostly because she wanted more people to play with!
Allison loves seeing how much fun the game can be when people have a comfortable place to gather.
